WWE Monday Night Raw continues and we have our opening match of the night. Aleister Black goes up against Austin Theory in a Money In The Bank qualifying match.
Aleister Black vs. Austin Theory (Men’s Money In The Bank Qualifier)
Lock-ups, Aleister with a waistlock, Austin counters into a top wristlock. Black with a single leg trip to escape, front facelock into a top wristlock. Austin wrestles into a front facelock of his own, Black with a hammerlock and takes him down to the canvas. Theory fights up to his feet. Into a side headlock, arm wringer, Aleister rolls through, single leg trip, Austin with an upkick to the face! Aleister with an arm drag, Theory with a hip toss, shoulder block! Black with a legsweep but Theory dodges it, gets him with a closed fist, whip to the ropes but Black rebounds right back! Takes Theory to the apron, Black wants a Black Mass but Theory leaps down to the floor to avoid it! But then a baseball slide takes him down! Zelina Vega stands up from the commentary table and starts yelling at Black. Aleister lets her distract him, Theory with a hip toss into the barricade as we go to commercial!
Theory with a roll-through dropkick as we come back! Argentine Backbreaker position, drops Black against the top turnbuckle repeatedly and keeping him in that position! Black escapes though, gets him with a high kick! Theory fights back, tries for the ATL but McIntyre lands on his feet and avoids it. Gets Theory down into an Arm Triangle, eventually transitions to the Gogoplata but Theory hoists him up into the Backlund Style Powerbomb! Ref makes a standing ten count. Theory pulls Black to his feet at seven, wants a vertical suplex but damage to the arm from before keeps him from doing it. Black with a small package for a 2 count, combination of strikes into the leg sweep, basement dropkick! Springboard Moonsault for a nearfall!
Theory with a superkick, Leghook Ushigoroshi for a nearfall! Hoists him up for the ATL again, Black escapes to the apron, forearm to make him back up. Black up top, has to roll through after missing the meteora but he nails a Pump Knee to the face, German Suplex, bridge for a nearfall! Pulls him up with his foot but Theory ducks the Black Mass – but the second attempt gets him and that’s that!
Winner: Aleister Black
There was an incredible shot of Zelina Vega with her mouth agape and her hands shaking after that Black Mass hit. That was beautiful. Great match too!
Afterwards, Byron Saxton enters the ring to ask Aleister what his plan is at Money In The Bank. Black says he doesn’t know much about corporate life. But he will make sure each floor of that building is turned into the personal hell of his opponents.
