Time for another WWE Monday Night Raw Preview! There’s actually not a ton advertised for this one. WWE had been on something of a roll there these past few weeks. But now that Raw is already past the MITB qualifying phase, there’s previous little to speak of. Still, we’ll be giving the same coverage as always, which means taking a look at what little is on tap for tonight.
Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre WWE Championship Contract Signing
Yannow, WWE is pretty silly with how they do these things. Seth was an obvious challenger down the road for Drew McIntyre, but being that he’s Raw’s top heel you’d like it to be saved for a major show. Mind you I’ve always been of the opinion that Money In The Bank should be one of the big shows on WWE’s calendar, I feel like it’s a much easier sell than Survivor Series personally. So I don’t necessarily mind doing this match there, though it’s way too close to WrestleMania to be it’s own supercard. But the real issue is we’re coming directly off of Rollins losing to Kevin Owens in his last major match. A single squash victory over Denzel Dejournette and he’s right back in the title picture. Granted the options are genuinely lacking at the moment but I can’t help but feel like this is exactly WWE was going to do anyway, it always seems to work out like this post-Mania.
Anyway Drew and Seth will be having themselves a contract signing. I imagine it will be exactly like every other contract signing, including Drew making edgy inside jokes about how every contract signing is exactly the same. That too is part of the formula at this point.
Asuka vs. Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler
I was definitely, definitely asking for Nia and Shayna to be involved in the same match together. Nah but in this context it should be just fine. It serves as a MITB preview as these are the three Raw women to be involved. I have to think that in spite of her Mania loss Shayna is still going to be considered the favorite from the Raw side to go into that match. So I figure that somehow, someway, Shayna will get the victory. Probably over Asuka, considering she seems to be at the point where she can absorb losses at will and not really get hurt by it, whereas Nia Jax is still in the middle of her rebuilding.
