Out of everyone in this years Money In The Bank match, no one matches the legend of Rey Mysterio. He has done just about everything there is to do in WWE. He is a three time World Champion, two time Intercontinental Champion, one time United States Champion, four time Tag Team champion, and even won the 2006 Royal Rumble.
There are only two accolades that have alluded him, as he never won King Of The Ring, and has never held the Money In The Bank briefcase. He was involved in the 2011 edition of the match, and in 2010 he had Kane cash in the briefcase on him. Can he win this years Money In The Bank contract? Will Rey Mysterio be the one to climb the cooperate ladder?
Rey Mysterio More Experience Than Anyone
While this years Money In The Bank match is star studded, the only person who even comes close to the 31 years of experience is AJ Styles. Rey Mysterio has seen and done just about everything in wrestling, and while the brawl through WWE HQ is something that has never been done before, Mysterio will still be the most prepared of the group. If nothing else, his time in the chaotic world of Lucha Underground has him prepared for anything he will see in this match, as characters were regularly killed off. Even if someone gets thrown off WWE HQ, he will be mentally prepared to deal with that.
A Chance To Get A Good World Title Run
While he might be a three time world champion in WWE, having held the WWE Championship once and the World Heavyweight Championship twice, he has never had a particularly good run with any of those titles. His WWE Championship reign didn’t even last a single day, as John Cena would challenge and beat him for the title on the same night he won it. Meanwhile his runs with the World Heavyweight Championship were a bit longer, but he was never booked strong while champion. Winning Money In The Bank would almost ensure he gets another chance as WWE Champion, and a chance to prove he can be a strong world champion.
