Last week on NXT, Cameron Grimes mouth would get him into big trouble with Finn Balor. After beating Denzel Denjournette in short order, he would take to the microphone claiming that he wished he was the one who attacked Finn Balor a few weeks back. The former NXT Champion would take to the ring to
Cameron Grimes Tries To End This One Quick
Grimes would look to end this match early, going for his signature double stomp ‘The Cave In’ the moment the bell rang, but Balor had this scouted. He would punish the brash Grimes in the corner with some heavy chops, before being run across the ring into the opposite corner. Balor would come out on top of this fast start to the match, locking in a tight headlock in the center of the ring. Grimes would get to his feet and try to use the ropes to get the leverage to push Balor off, but he was locked in. The Technical Savage would display how he got that nickname, fighting to free himself and getting Balors left arm in the process.
Balor would fight free and treat Grimes to a stomp to the chest followed by a PK. He would set his opponent up in the corner of the ring and attempt a running chop, but Grimes slipped away and hit a waist-lock take-down on Balor. Grimes would drop some nasty knees into the ribs of Balor, before grabbing at the face. This show of disrespect would fire up Balor, who would reverse an Irish Whip before hitting his Sunset Flip into Basement Dropkick. Grimes would counter the attempt at the Slingblade, and Balor would be slammed into the mat for a near fall. Grimes would try to grind down Balor with a modified Camel Clutch, before sending Balor into the ropes for a hard knee to the stomach.
Finn Balor Fights Back
Not to be shown up, Finn Balor would send some hard forearms to the face of Grimes, but would be send hard into the corner to stop his monument. Balor thought he had the advantage after a boot to the face, but he’d be snuffed out with a big lariat. Grimes would get cocky and slap Balor across the face, and this would only serve to piss his opponent off. Balor would quickly come back after tripping the legs of Grimes and hitting a double stomp to the chest. He would aggressively attack Grimes, taking the fight to the outside and stomping the head of Grimes onto the apron before dropping him with a kick.
It was at this time, that The Archer Of Infamy would enter the arena with his signature night stick. Balor would hit him with a forearm, before dropping Grimes with a slingblade. Coming back into the ring, Balor would take the Nightstick to the back of the knee without the referee noticing, leaving Balor open for The Cave In. Grimes would get the biggest win of his NXT career, but with a big asterisk next to it.
Priest would continue his assault after the match, hitting The Reckoning onto the Steel Chair, before sitting over his opponent and taunting him. It Damien Priest who took out Finn Balor weeks ago, and his is just looking to make his name at the expense of Balor. Will Balor get his revenge at NXT Takeover: In Your House?
