At NXT Takeover: In Your House, we saw Keith Lee successfully defend the NXT North American Championship against Johnny Gargano. We also saw Mia Yim get a win over Candice LeRae in the 6 woman tag match, but they’d brawl their way to the back in the match. Neither of these conflicts are through, and this week on NXT action would start with a mixed tag match; but this time Gargano & Lee won’t be in street clothes. Who would prove to be the power couple of NXT?
The Yimitless Ones Take Control Early
The match would start with some bickering, and Yim getting in the face of Gargano, with LeRae doing the same with Lee. Lee simply picked her up and put her aside, before Gargano jumped him from behind. A brawl would ensue, and send when Gargano & LeRae would be both be caught out of the air into powerbomb position before being smashed into each other.
Yim & LeRae would properly start the match, with Yim throwing LeRae across the ring. Gargano would pull LeRae out of the ring to safety, only for Lee to hold them in place for Yim to dive onto them. This wouldn’t go as planned, but Lee easily caught Yim, and they would follow up with dual clothesline before dumping them into the apron as we went into a commercial break.
Garganos Take Control Briefly
During the commerical break, a distraction from Gargano would give LeRae a chance to take control. Yim would be isolated with submissions and strikes, but Seoul Food would give her a chance to crawl over to Lee. Lee & Gargano would clash as Lee would run Gargano through, before hitting Grizzly Magnum in the corner. He’d throw Gargano like a child, LeRae would save her husband from a powerslam with a blind tag. They would work together to take Lee down with an eye rake from LeRae, then Gargano hitting an Enzuguri and LeRae hitting a tornado DDT.
Yim would be the legal member of her team however, and would explode in with a front dropkick. A dragon suplex would get a near fall, but Gargano would break it up. Yim wouldn’t give a damn about the rules as she would elbow Gargano into submission before hit German Suplexes on both members of the Gargano household. LeRae would take advantage of this distraction to hit a Seoul Food of her own followed by a springboard moonsault for a near fall before tagging Gargano in.
Keith Lee & Johnny Gargano Hurt Their Spouses By Accident
Yim would play support for Lee however, with her taking Gargano out of the ring with a low bridge as he hit the ropes. She would look to get LeRae with a Dragon Suplex off the apron, but Lee would pounce Gargano into this situation and sending Yim into the barricade. Lee would check on Yim, only to get hit with a Superkick and the One Final Beat DDT. However, this DDT would send him right onto LeRae. Lee would try to help the petite LeRae, but Gargano would roll him up for the win, sending his wife rolling to the outside in the process.
