After winning the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, El HijoDel Fantasma would unmask and reveal himself as Santos Escobar. Aligned with Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde, he looks to be the newest dominant force in the Cruiserweight Division, and no one will stop him. He already put Drake Maverick down and into hospital with a phantom driver through a table, and now Jake Atlas is coming for revenge for his fallen friend.
Jake Atlas Comes Into This One With Purpose
Jake Atlas has been a good friend of Drake Maverick, and has entered this match with revenge in mind. He’d bring the fight right to Escobar, dropping him early with a huge crossbody before applying a rear-chinlock. Escobar would fight to his feet, but the athletic and aggressive Atlas would bring the fight. Heavy strikes from the champion would give him a brief advantage, but a running hurricarana would take control back to Atlas. However, Mendoza and Wilde would distract him and Atlas would be sent right into the plexiglass.
Santos Escobar Takes Control Of The Match
After his goons helped get him control, Escobar would keep it. His heavy strikes and submission mastery would punish Atlas, as Wilde & Mendoza berated him from ringside. He might have needed help to get the upper hand on, but he’d show exactly why he’s champion.
Atlas would rally back with strikes, and follows up a huge scoop slam followed by a standing moonsault for a near fall. A dropkick would send Escobar to the outside, but Wilde & Mendoza would take the hit for their leader. Diving back into the ring, Escobar would dodge but end up getting caught with a headlock driver from Atlas. The advantage wouldn’t last long, and Atlas would be hit with the Phantom Driver for the win.
