Good evening everyone and welcome to another week of WWE Smackdown Live Recap!
Tonight, we start out with Michael Cole in the ring and he calls out Matt Riddle for his interview. Good chance we’ll se him in a match tonight.
Cole starts out praising him for defeating AJ Styles while listing Styles accomplishments.
Riddle is unable to explain what he was feeling on his debut, and having Styles punch him in the face was like an out of body experience.
He cited celebrating with the Smackdown locker room afterwards and how he could get used to it.
Cole asked him why he’s always barefooted, and he responded with a long story.
As a child he was taken to Wisconsin for a vacation. They had an indoor pool and would go out to play in the snow. He said one day when he came back in and put his feet in the water they started burning. He had frostbite and nearly lost his feet.
He feels the burning sensation whenever he puts shows on, so he doesn’t wear shoes anywhere, no matter the occasion.
And this is when King Corbin comes out.
Lack of respect
Corbin mocks him, “You could’ve saved everybody a lot of time and said ‘The reason I don’t wear shoes is, when I was a little kid I was an idiot and I still am to this very day.’”
Corbin then calls out Michael Cole for giving Riddle airtime and kicked him out of the ring.
Corbin’s issue with Riddle is how Riddle dove on him after he was beaten down by everyone last week and how it was a show of disrespect and he and everyone else should bow down to the king.
He intends to make Riddle pay for every second he’s out there, and Riddle replied with, “You do you, bro.”
This set Corbin off again and said someone had to put him in his place. When Riddle stepped up, Corbin said he had to earn the right and would instead face…
John Morrison.
This should be an interesting match given their comparable skill set. We’ll find out after the commercial.
