TJP is one of the more established names of Lions Break Collision. He was a graduate of the original L.A Dojo, and a well travelled veteran. He’s been in WWE, Impact Wrestling, but he’s at his best in NJPW. Danny Limelight would make his debut for NJPW here, and would have twenty minutes to try and make himself famous. He’s a US Marine, hard hitting as they come, but also has heavy lucha libre experience. Will this combo be enough to stop the Fil ‘Am Flash?
Danny Limelight Impresses
Facing a grizzled younng veteran like TJP makes it hard to control the match, but Limelight would try his damndest. Some early chain wrestling would lead to TJP flipping out and hitting a dropkick, before they’d lock up again. Again, he would get control as he’d slide in and take the legs down before holding the shoulders to the mat for a one count. Limelight was getting schooled by the veteran, and had to back off to regain composure. He’d rush back in, get both arms trapped and be taken to the mat. The early part of this match was 95% TJP.
Limelight would show some life when he’d effortlessly backflip over TJP, before taking him down. This wouldn’t last, as he’d be taken down with a twisting headscissors, ending up underneath TJP yet again. He’d hit an armdrag, springboard off the ropes and take TJP fast first with a flatliner. TJP rolled to the outside, but Limelight took the air to take TJP out. Back in the ring, he’d rush at TJP in the corner, be sent onto the ropes, lose his footing and eat a dropkick to the face.
TJP Gets His Second Lions Break Collision Win
TJP would be back in control, disrespecting his opponent by wiping his boot along the face. He’d hit a vertical suplex and look for the back suplex to follow, but Limelight shoved him off and hit a dropkick. Enjoying brief control, he’d throw TJP into the corner, only to be caught with a modified russian legsweep moments later and end up in a submission as soon as he hit the ground.
We would see Limelight reverse the weight and put TJP’s shoulders on the mat, breaking the hold. He’d be taken back down and locked in the Muta Lock this time, desperately reaching for the ropes, and instead grabbing a headlock to force TJP to break the hold. In return, TJP would get up and hit an armbreaker. This would get a near fall, but the end was in sight. Any attempts to gain control would be beaten out of him by TJP, and even a Half & Half Suplex followed by a spinning kick wouldn’t end the match. He’d try for the Symbiote DDT, but only get the two count as the 10 minute mark came.
Limelight went up top, but TJP ran up to catch him with the superplex, he’d follow up with a brainbuster before going to the top rope. With the Mamba Splash, TJP would win after 10 minutes and 48 seconds.
In the end, TJP came out with the win, his experience and sheer ability being hard to beat. This makes for his second win, also being on the winning end of the main event tag team match last week alongside Karl Fredericks. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
