Damien Priest raised his stock at NXT Takeover: In Your House. He took Finn Balor to the limit in a fantastic match, but has had a hard time keeping whatever momentum he gained. This is all due to Cameron Grimes, who has seemingly made it his goal to stop Priest at every turn. He slashed the tires of Priest’s car, he attacked Priest with a car door, and beat him down while hurt. However, Priest is now 100% and has another chance against Grimes. Will the Archer Of Infamy finally shut the Carolina Caveman down in a good ol’ fashioned grudge match?
Damien Priest Came Ready To Take Cameron Grimes Out
Priest would get the jump on Grimes to start this match, eager for revenge. Grimes wouldn’t even get his vest off before eating heavy jumping elbows in the corner. A huge spinning back kick would rock Grimes, and send him to the outside. Grimes would try to get the high ground, and would be able to get the advantage by getting in the ring first.
A big jumping forearm would stop Priest in his tracks, before hitting a spinning side slam for a near fall. He’d keep beating on Priest before hitting a dropkick for another near fall before we’d go into a commercial break, where Grimes would maintain control. He’d be ruthless as is tradition for the Technical Savage.
Following the break, Priest would be starting to fire up, and would come back with some hard right hands before launching off some kicks. Grimes would be dropped with a huge lariat, but he’d dodge a jumping back elbow in the corner. Priest would slip to the outside, and Grimes would miss a baseball slide. He’d narrowly avoid a chokeslam to the apron, only to take a Razors Edge onto it.
Finishing The Job
Back in the ring, Priest would try for a spin kick, with Grimes narrowly dodging. He’d attempt a big german suplex, but couldn’t get Priest over. Priest would hit another big move with an elevated flatliner. Grimes would counter the Reckoning attempt into a small package getting a two count, and then catch Priest with a running Spanish Fly for another two count. He’d need to hit the Cave In to stop Priest, but he’d slap Priest and piss him off. A roundhouse kick would rock Priest, who’d then nearly be hit with the Cave In. Instead, Grimes got hung up on the middle rope. A spin kick and a rope assisted Reckoning later, Priest got the win.
Following the win, he’d say he’s got his eyes on the winner of Lee vs. Dijakovic later in the night. Could he be in line for a title shot? Are their others more deserving? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
