WWE NXT Results: Ridge Holland vs. Oney Lorcan vs. Damien Priest

We have already seen two men move on to challenge for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Takeover XXX. Bronson Reed beat Johnny Gargano & Roderick Strong, and Dexter Lumis beat Finn Balor & Timothy Thatcher to advance, now a third man will get their chance to qualify for the ladder match.

    Looking At This Weeks Field

First we have the former rugby player and an NXT UK standout, Ridge Holland. He’s got a big upside in terms of power and size being an absolute unit, but has not wrestled in months and is making his NXT debut. Potential ring rust against his opponents could be disastrous, despite being undefeated in singles action.

Second we have Oney Lorcan, who enters every match with more intent to kick someones ass. He’s hard hitting, double tough at the best of times, and rarely gives up. Most recently he’s dropped two hard fought matches to Timothy Thatcher, making a big win essential for him.

Finally, we have Damien Priest. After a huge match at NXT Takeover: In Your House against Finn Balor, he’s become a fan favorite. Many have him pegged as a future NXT Champion, and is by far the favorite coming into this one. He’s recently won a feud with Cameron Grimes, giving him momentum.

Who would advance to the ladder match at NXT Takeover XXX?

    Ridge Holland Shows His Power

Holland & Lorcan would start this one by throwing hands, with Priest coming in third and dropping both. He’d hit Holland with a leaping flatliner, before throwing some deadly strikes at Lorcan. Lorcan would send both to the outside, and soar over the top rope to take both men out.

He’d pick Holland as a target, and be suplexed across the ring with ease. Priest would go one on one with Holland next, and find his arms trapped and himself thrown with ease as well, before being sent to the outside as we go to the commercial break. Holland was looking like ring rust will not be an issue after all.

    Oney Lorcan Gives His All

Coming back from the break, Holland & Priest would be trading forearms in the ring. Huge strikes wouldn’t drop either man, but Lorcan diving off the top rope would.

A double blockbuster would give Lorcan a nearfall on Holland, and then he’d counter the cyclone kick from Priest with a Single Leg Crab.

Priest would shove Lorcan off, but he’d just go for an uppercut on Holland, followed by one to Priest. Holland would get him one on one, and nail a pounce and a huge slam for a near fall.

Damien Priest Shows Why He Was The Favorite To Win

Priest would look for The Reckoning, but he’d be countered and Holland would nail a Gutwrench Powerbomb for the near fall, with Lorcan saving this one.

Lorcan would come in with some heavy chops, really getting fired up and cutting Holland down with a series of running uppercuts. Priest would try to catch Lorcan with a chokeslam, but instead get chopped in the face. Holland would run Lorcan through with a lariat. Priest got a chokeslam on Holland, then The Reckoning on Lorcan would get him the win.

Damien Priest is no stranger to the bright lights of NXT Takeover, and has come close in the past to the NXT North American Championship. Will he finally become a champion at Takeover XXX? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
