WWE Smackdown Preview (8/7) – Unannounced but Expected – Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Lucha House Party; Big E vs. John Morrison

WWE Smackdown has been the most consistent of WWE’s main brands when it comes to storytelling recently, so we expect to see continued growth in two of the brand’s newest storylines.

The first was teased last week when Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura were celebrating winning the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship and were interrupted by Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik).

Nakamura and Cesaro mocked them as it was “a champions party” and Gran Metalik had lost his chance when AJ Style defeated him earlier in the night.

An exchange between the four ensued before Lucha House Party left peacefully, but the seeds were sown.

We expect the feud to really kick off this week with either another backstage confrontation, or Lucha House Party will be in a match and the champions will come out to mock them.

Given Cesaro and Nakamura’s previous quest to be respected and taken seriously, they’ll now look down on all those scrambling for their titles with disdain and cite they’re not worthy.

It’s just the thing to light a fire under Lince Doradro and Metalik, and they’ll go after the champions, cementing their feud and probable showdown at SummerSlam.

Of course, there’s another rise in the single ranks that’s going to be entertaining to watch.

    Big E vs. John Morrison

Big E taking on Morrison is as natural as breathing given it’s standard operating procedure within the WWE.

Also, given the headaches Morrison caused in Big E’s match with the Miz last week, this is the logical next match for Big E.

We expect this to mirror last week’s match between Big E and the Miz, with Morrison giving Big E all he can handle and Miz prowling outside the ring to lend a helping hand.

Unlike last week, we don’t expect Big E to have as many problems as he’s going to be more comfortable and ready in this singles match as he was.

This isn’t meant to take anything away from Morrison; it’s just the maturation factor we’re sure they’ll implement in the match.

It’ll still be hard fought, and maybe Big E will have a surprise for the Miz?

Or the referee could just ban him from ringside from the start. But that would be too easy and make too much sense.

In the end, there’s little doubt that Big E will win, but we’ve been wrong before.

Who do you think will pull out the victory? Let us know in the comments below.
