Hello and welcome to WWE Raw Results and Recap. Looks like we’re going to have an interesting night, so time to buckle up and get ready for the ride.
The night started with some technical glitches in the WWE then and now opening. Guess retribution will do something besides run around on Raw tonight?
Apologies from Tom Phillips for the technical difficulties started the show part off, and then they announced the night’s expected card.
Drew McIntyre started it off by coming out to the ring.
A recap of Randy Orton and Ric Flair’s exchange last week played as well as McIntyre running into the ring to bring us up to date for SummerSlam’s main event.
Back in the ring, McIntyre began by saying what Orton did last week was unforgivable — he brutalized Rif Flair, a 71 year old man.
He added how Flair was his mentor, protector, and friend. He recounted Flair’s emotional speech, then called Orton pure evil.
He then promised at SummerSlam Orton wouldn’t be facing an old man, but a 6’7 fire breathing dragon.
While McIntyre continued his promise, the angle and images on the screen shifter, changing from one to another.
Outside, a camera man opened the door to the production truck and Retribution was there, tearing it up and threatening the tech crew and forced them to unplug the show.
No surprise there.
Retribution Recap
Back from commercial, we were given a recap of the tech problems caused by Retribution.
The face were gathered backstage getting fired up when McIntyre interrupted them and started to say something about Orton, and then went on that he doesn’t know if they’ll make it to SummerSlam.
He then tried to coax everyone to come together to stomp them out, and he was interrupted by a mock clapping and laughing Seth Rollins.
Rollins pointed out they already have a messiah, so there’s already a leader in place.
McIntyre pointed out he’s been going on for five years about being a leader and if they weren’t listening then, they aren’t listening now.
Rollins then took credit for teaching McIntyre what it takes to be a champion, as well as teaching Dominic Mysterio what it takes to be a WWE superstar.
Ricochet made a comment about Rollins needed a receipt for that and that Rey Mysterio will be there tonight.
When McIntyre asked if he was scared, Rollins said he’s no scared and can protect himself.
Rollins added that McIntyre better be ready or he won’t leave SummerSlam as the WWE World Champion.
McIntyre then threatened to knock his head off, so Murphy got between them and he promised him as well.
Looks like we have our feud for after SummerSlam all set.
