WWE Raw Results and Recap returned from commercial, and Michaels started off by saying he wished he was there under better circumstances and then said he wanted us to watch something.
Of course, it was another recap of Ric Flair pouring his heart out to Randy Orton last week.
Michaels said he watched as Flair talked about Flair sitting on his death bed and wanting to tell those closest to him that he loves them.
He added how Flair loved performing in the ring more than anyone else. He added there would be no Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Big Show, Christian, Edge, or Drew McIntyre.
The Viper strikes
He added Randy Orton is on that list, but he doesn’t appreciate him.
He said that Orton felt he was owed and deserved to have Flair give him his experience.
Michaels said he doesn’t know if Orton will meet his end with Sweet Chin Music or a Claymore, but he will see it coming at Summerslam.
As Michaels started to leave the ring, Orton grabbed him from behind and hit Michaels with an RKO, then a punt.
McIntyre ran into the ring and Orton headed off, as he slipped from the ring to avoid a confrontation not on his terms.
While McIntyre helped to look after Michaels, Orton tried to get McIntyre from behind and hit an RKO, but McIntyre caught him.
After a few punches, McIntyre clotheslined Orton over the top rope. McIntyre then pummeled Orton, bouncing him off the announcer’s table and barricade several times.
McIntyre then left him (Big mistake!) and headed back into the ring, and Orton came in again and caught McIntyre from behind and hit him with an RKO before slithering out of the ring under McIntyre’s glare.
This was a better show than we expected and the ending set up McIntyre and Orton’s match at SummerSlam perfectly.
The rest of the show had faster action in the matches, but we didn’t think that necessarily made them better.
As for Retribution, we’re really not a fan of it given real world issues and the super predictable nature of them.
WWE Raw Results and Recap really wouldn’t mind if they stopped with that storyline and switched to something else.
