Welcome back to coverage of WWE’s show that everyone forgets exists, Main Event. Humberto Carillo is here again after losing to Ricochet last week, looking to redeem that big loss. He’s been having a rough time on Monday Night RAW in the last few months, and needs a big win to get some momentum. His opponent would be Akira Tozawa, flanked by a trio of ninjas of course. Can Carillo overcome the backup advantage?
NINJA POWER!
Tozawa would do his ninja routine before they locked up, channeling ancient power to overcome Carillo. Carillo would shove Tozawa into the corner with Tozwa climbing to the top rope and coming off into a headlock on his opponent. He’d be shoved off, and the pace would pick up until Tozawa ended up on the apron and would try to suplex Carillo to the floor.
Carillo fought out, and would knock Tozawa to the floor where he’d be caught and thrown back to the apron by his ninjas. A trip was attempted, but Tozawa would jump into the ring, and Carillo slipped outside to be surrounded by ninjas. Tozawa took advantage with a baseball slide, taking control.
Carillo would be beat down in the ring, before dodging a springboard crossbody and be hit with the back roll into a moonsault for a two count. A suplex would put Tozawa in position for a moonsault, but he’d be pursued as he went to the top rope, and be cut down. He’d be snapmared down, getting in the chest and hit with a senton.
Humberto Carillo Pulls Out A New Trick
Tozawa would remain urgent in this match, applying a surfboard stretch and yelling for more Ninja Power. Carillo would fight out with some kicks, before Tozawa went for a signature combo to the german suplex, but it’d be stopped. A big superkick from Carillo would drop Tozawa, but he’d be coming back with chops soon enough.
Carillo would hit a springboard back elbow, followed by a flying nothing. Tozawa would dash into Carillo and be hit with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, followed by a facebuster out of a torture rack for a win. It’s a new finisher that’s nearly identical to Bianca Belairs. This was a fast paced match with some fun comedy spots, nothing special but got the job done.
