When he’s not being unbeatable in his home country of Saudi Arabia, Mansoor is being a fan favorite part of NXT and now 205 Live. He’s previously shown up to beat Tehuti Miles a few weeks in a row, but this week he finds a different opponent. Could he remain undefeated as he faces some bloke in yellow tights, who is actually Colby Corino, son of Steve Corino!
Mansoor & Colby Corino Go To War
Mansoor & Corino would lock up early, and Gulak would tell a story about breaking Corinos arm in one of his first matches on commentary. Corino would be taken over with an arm drag, and end up in an armbar. Mansoor would get an elbow to the face, and he’d send Corino off the rope. He’d leapfrog over him multiple times, before hitting a manhattan drop and a big lariat.
Mansoor would plant Corino with a bulldog off the middle rope, with Corino going face first to the mat. Despite this, a quick comeback from Corino would see him cut the leg out from underneath, causing Mansoor to hit his head off the top turnbuckle. He’d follow this up with a moonsault senton, looking incredibly impressive in his 205 Live debut.
Corino would try to apply an abdominal stretch, but Mansoor would fight out and hit a bodyslam. Mansoor would hit a Northern Lights suplex, then move into a suplex, setting Corino up on the ropes for a nasty looking neckbreaker. Finally looking to end this, he’d lift Corino into the electric chair position and drop him on his head.
A Nasty Match, But In A Good Way
This match was not something you expect from 205 Live, feeling more like something you’d see at a local indy, but in the best way possible. There was a certain rawness to the match, it feeling out of place in the bright lights of the WWE Thunderdome. Both Mansoor & Corino took some nasty bumps, but they simply added to the story of this short match. Mansoor got 75% of the offense, but Corino shined when he got the chance, and hopefully WWE or another major promotion signs and refines him, as he’s got potential.
Mansoor remains undefeated on 205 Live, and could be next in line for Santos Escobar, should Swerve not finally beat him for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Can you see Mansoor as a champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
