It has been a rough week for Ever-Rise. They got brutalized by Legado Del Fantasma on the previous episode of 205 Live, and then lost a fan vote on Twitter to decide if they got a shot at Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza, with Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch getting that match! Ever-Rise are still in action on 205 Live this week though, a chance to blow off some steam.
Ever-Rise Showing Some New Found Aggression
Chase Parker would run right in with a dropkick and take out one of the Lockhart Boys, with Matt Martel taking the other out of the ring. A tag would be made, Martel would hit a big backbreaker, and hold the opponent in position for a stiff running knee lift. Martel would throw them across the ring with a German Suplex before mouthing off.
Parker would tag in, and their signature drop toehold into leaping elbow drop would be on their mind. A big stomp to the face, and Parker would throw Lockhart #1 to his corner to make the tag to his fresh partner, a show of complete control in this match. As soon as Lockhart #2 came into the ring, he’d be dropped with clubbing blows.
However, some quick strikes would find Parker back in his corner, Matt Martel making the blind tag, while Parker regained control. A double flapjack right into the top turnbuckle would stun Lockhart #2, as Parker yelled ‘You picked the wrong day.’ Ever-Rise would hit the Wheelbarrow Codebreaker, and this match was mercifully ended.
A Complete Squash Match
This one was 99% in the corner of Ever-Rise, with some slight offense from The Lockhart Boys, only getting their name due to Drew Gulak noticing it on the back of their gear. It was a classic squash match scenario, and a showcase of the signature moves of Ever-Rise.
They might be used as borderline comedy jobbers at the best of times, but this is a legit tag team, one simply waiting for their chance to break out in NXT. The tag team division there is as open as ever, and with the next Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Cup on the horizon, the time of Ever-Rise might not be far. But first, they need to get their revenge on Legado Del Fantasma.
