G1 Climax 30 Night 7 features the fourth night of action for Block A and features several competitors face must-win scenarios.

Ishii (CHAOS) [0 Points] v Shingo (LIJ) [2 Points]

The marquee of G1 Climax 30 Night 7 sees former two-time Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and five-time NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii face former NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi.

Ishii has yet to defeat Shingo in two singles matches, with his latest defeat coming on February 20, 2020, when he made the V1 challenge during Shingo’s first reign as NEVER Openweight Champion.

He comes into this match G1 Climax 30 losses to former two-time (current) NEVER Openweight Champion and former IWGP Intercontinental Champion Minoru Suzuki, current RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and former NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay, and former NEVER Openweight Champion, IWGP Intercontinental Champion, and G1 Climax 29 winner Kota Ibushi.

While Shingo only has two points, he’s not in the dire situation Ishii is after drawing three tough opponents to begin the tournament.

Jay White (Bullet Club) [6 Points] v Ospreay (CHAOS) [4 Points]

The headline match sees Will Ospreay attempt to bounce back after defeat at the hands of Takagi on G1 Climax Night 5, while Jay White looks to continue his perfect start after defeating former five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada.

A win from White will make him the clear favorite in Block A, however, a victory by Ospreay will make the former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion a darkhorse to make a statement during G1 Climax 30.

    Okada (CHAOS) [2 Points] v Taichi (Suzuki-Gun) [6 Points]

With wins over former NEVER Openweight Champion Jeff Cobb, Minoru Suzuki, and Yujiro Tachi has started G1 Climax 30 with an impressive six points. While sitting atop the A Block table, he’s in for a challenge as Okada would like to avenge his defeat at the hands of Jay White.

Okada, the winner of G1 Climax 22 and G1 Climax 24 has a tough path in front of him if he is to fight his way back towards the top of the block.

The pressure is off Taichi, but if he is to to take the next step as a singles competitor, he will need to defeat Okada and retain his spot at the top of A Block.

Ibushi (Hontai) [4 Points] v Cobb (Hontai) [2 Points]

Jeff Cobb is coming off a loss to Minoru Suzuki, while Ibushi was able to best Ishii during G1 Climax 30 Night 5.

Cobb needs a victory over Ibushi to keep himself from falling into a hole, and Ibushi needs a win to move back towards the top of the Block A table.

The first time singles match between the two will likely intrigue the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) audience around the world.

Suzuki (Suzuki-Gun] (4 Points) v Yujiro (Bullet Club) [0 Points]

The leader of Suzuki-Gun and current NEVER Openweight Champion Minoru Suzuki has victories over former NEVER Openweight Champion Yujiro in G1 Climax 22, 23, and 24.

If Suzuki can keep his undefeated streak against Yujiro alive, he will remain on pace to claim Block A victory.

Yujiro needs a win to stay alive in talks of having a respectable G1 Climax 30 finish.

NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lions Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura compete in the opening singles match.
