It’s that time of year where Raw and Smakcdown suddenly become two again. Where you’re meant to pretend that they haven’t been wrestlers randomly changing brand all the time. If they didn’t do this, it could be a massive event. Where we could finally see some different matches after a long period of time. Now though the card for Smackdwon looks PPV worthy. With matches like The Fiend Vs. Kevin Owen and the biggest match Sasha Banks Vs. Bayley. It’s the match between Sasha and Bayley that seems very weird as this match has been building for years now. That match could easily have headlined a PPV.
A PPV with a twists
The PPV could have a good twist to it. The PPV could be slightly like Survivor series but maybe it could even replace it. New stipulation could be added to PPV, for example; a match to decide which roster number one contender they want to be This PPV would also lead to an actual revivalry between Smackdown, Raw and NXT through the year and not just a one off. It would be a massive build to this PPV through the whole year and could be used to bring up the ratings as the three companies fight to get the most views.
It would be something different
WWE PPV’s haven’t changed in a long time. It becomes pretty easy to predict what PPV is next and what stipulation is going to happen in the PPV. This new PPV could bring new life not only to the PPV but to all the shows. There’s a lot of criticism that Raw and Smackdown are becoming slightly stale. Smackdown is getting better in some places but not the whole show. This new focus on the Draft the whole year alone could be a kind of reboot to all shows. Making it feel like all 3 shows are different and they’re all fighting for brand supremacy all year long.
