Daniel Bryan against all odds has done just about everything possible in WWE. He’s a four time World Heavyweight Champion, one time United States & Intercontinental Champion, and two time Tag Team Champion, as well as having won Money in The Bank in 2011. It’s been an illustrious career to say the least, but he lacks one accolade. Daniel Bryan has never won a battle royale, let alone the Royal Rumble. Could 2021 be his year to finally do so?
Daniel Bryan Is The First Man To Announce Entry Into The 2021 Match
After defeating Jey Uso this past Friday night on Smackdown Live, Daniel Bryan would grab the microphone and announce that he was announcing his entry into the 2021 Royal Rumble. This will be his first proper Royal Rumble since 2015, with him also appearing in the 2011 & 2013 Rumbles. He’d often be defending or challenging for a championship or ending a major feud at the event. This is what makes this so exciting, as he has a chance to punch his ticket to the main event of Wrestlemania 37.
A Proven Royal Rumble Iron-Man
Despite not having been in a traditional Royal Rumble since 2015, Daniel Bryan was involved in The Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. It was the only time Daniel Bryan was involved in a Saudi Arabia supershow, but he made history in this 50 man Royal Rumble match. He became the ultimate Royal Rumble Iron-Man, spending a staggering one hour and sixteen minutes in the match, but ultimately it was Braun Strowman who won this particular.
This was his latest Royal Rumble match performance, and first since returning from retirement, showing that he can go the distance. The record was previously held by Rey Mysterio who had a one hour and twelve minute record in 2006, a match which he won.
Beef With Roman Reigns
Daniel Bryan has the motivation and skills to win the match, but also the motivation. Ever since Roman Reigns had returned to Smackdown live and became WWE Universal Champion, he’s butted heads with Daniel Bryan on occasion. It was assumed that Reigns would defend the WWE Universal Championship against Bryan at Royal Rumble, but that is clearly not happening at this time.
