The Royal Rumble is often full of dramatic moments, as partners turn on each other to create unrivalled moments of action for fans to digest. There was a hint of that last year, as Randy Orton was thrown out of the Rumble by former tag team partner Edge. That ultimately led to a bitter feud between the two stars, and is a proven segway into a feud that can result in a WrestleMania match. But, what drama could we see around the title picture at the Rumble?
WWE News: Charlotte Flair Turns On Asuka
The most likely turn that could happen this weekend is Charlotte Flair turning on Asuka. The two women are currently the tag team champions, but it is highly expected that they are going to drop those titles in the near future. Both women want to hold the main title on Raw, which means that in the tag team match involving Flair and Asuka, we could see Flair finally turn on her partner.
It is hugely likely that they are going to be dethroned by Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler this weekend in one way or another, but this would be a sensible way to do it, as there would be added intrigue in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
WWE News: Roman Reigns Enlists Help
The Kevin Owens/Roman Reigns feud has been excellent on SmackDown, but the final chapter in their story will come at the Royal Rumble this weekend. Fittingly, it will come in a last man standing match, which will come just weeks after Reigns threw Owens off the Thunderdome.
It promises to be another excellent encounter between the two stars, as Reigns’ monster run as a heel continues. However, he could enlist the help of a certain Apollo Crew this week, as the two superstars have been getting closer over recent weeks. It would add another interesting element into the story, and could ensure that Big E emerges as the leading contender for the Universal Championship given his history with Crews.
WWE News: McIntyre Sees Off Goldberg, But New Challenge Emerges
It would be catastrophic if the WWE decide to put the strap on Goldberg going into WrestleMania season. McIntyre deserves the opportunity to defend his championship on the biggest stage of the year. We expect the Scot to successfully regain his title, but the return of Brock Lesnar could soon follow.
Lesnar is among the front runners to win the Rumble this year, but it would make more sense for the Beast to attack McIntyre after his match, which would open the door for Keith Lee to win the Rumble and set up a blockbuster triple threat for the title at Mania in April.
