Ever since NXT UK came back around, Joe Coffey has been more focused than ever before. He’s failed to claim gold in NXT UK, but intends to change that, as he gains win after win. Tonight, he has a newcomer to NXT UK in Danny Jones, a man who has been seen in places like All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he frequently teamed with Yuma Aoyagi. He’s also known in the UK scene for his matches in Progress & Attack Wrestling. Could Jones break the win streak of Coffey?
Better Luck Next Time, Danny Jones
Given the experience edge between Coffey & Jones, it was clear how this match would go. The Iron King locked up with Jones, shoved him to the ropes and gave a clean break twice, before taking a slap to the face. Coffey threw some punches, before hitting a big shoulder tackle which sent Jones flying across the ring. A huge sidewalk slam took Jones breath away, and Coffey didn’t go for the pinfall.
Instead, he pulled him up and took him down with more punches. He’d tell Jones to get back up, and get serious. Jones took the fight to Coffey, getting a knee strike before being thrown with a Belly To Belly Suplex. Coffey went for the lariat, Jones countered and almost got a sleeper hold before hitting an enziguri. Jones locked the Sleeper Hold in, was flung off and hit Glasgow Sendoff, and a Brodie Lee style discus lariat for the win.
Joe Coffey Calls Out Rampage Brown For A Match
After running through Danny Jones in under three minutes, Coffey would get a microphone and get to his main point tonight. He’s just one of two men on a big winning streak in NXT UK right now, the other being the NXT UK newcomer, but well respected legend, Rampage Brown. Coffey knows just how good Rampage is, they’ve met all around Europe… but never in WWE.
Last week they crossed paths backstage, and if Rampage wants to make a name for himself in NXT UK, he needs to take out someone like Coffey. Brown answered this call and met Coffey with a microphone of his own, and said all he had to do was ask. Anytime, anywhere.
Should Brown vs. Coffey be a number one contender’s match for the NXT UK Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
