WWE Smackdown Results returned as backstage, Jey apologized to Reigns for jumping the gun but he couldn’t let Bryan disrespect him.
Reigns told him there’s nothing to apologize for as long as he gets the job done.
Back in Pearce and Deville’s office, Edge continued that he got there and heard Bryan wants a rematch at Fastlane when he was told he and Bryan would tag together against Reigns and Jey.
Pearce said he did say there was a tag match, but Bryan made the challenge and Jey stepped up.
He added if Bryan beats Jey tonight, then he’ll face Reigns at Fastlane and said it’s just a bigger match and means no disrespect to Edge.
So, Bryan has to go through another qualifier? Of course, why not? It’s a weekly thing anymore.
Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. The Alpha Academy (Otis and Chad Gable)
As they came out, Gable called up a replay of what happened to Rey last week when Otis squashed him, and then asked for a slow motion replay.
Otis and Rey started off the match with Rey sliding under Otis and tripping him, then running into Otis and knocking himself to the mat.
Otis hit an elbow drop of the ropes, and them threw Rey across the ring, further injuring his ribs.
Otis followed it with a shoulder in the corner and started to club away at Rey when Gable stopped him and told him to bring him to their corner.
Gable tagged in and hit a gut buster, and then hit a shoulder in the corner before he ran into a boot.
Rey slipped out of a fireman’s carry and hit a step up kick so he could tag in Dominik.
Dominik hit a clothesline and axhandle, then a spinning splash in the corner.
Dominik caught Gable in a wheel barrow and launched him into the middle turnbuckle, then headed to the top ropes where he hit a tornado DDT for a near pinfall.
Rey tagged in and hit a sitton off the top rope and knocked Otis off the apron while Dominik slingshot Gable into the ropes so he and Rey could hit a double 619.
Rey headed to the top rope and hit a frog splash for a pin attempt that Otis broke up. Otis then dropped Dominik with a double axhandle.
Otis then tagged in and caught Rey’s crossbody attempt and planted him for a splash from the second rope for the win.
