Earlier in the night, Cameron Grimes would try to set up a business deal with Kyle O’Reilly. With his money and O’Reillys star potential, they could have gone to the moon. However, someone forgot to tell Grimes that he had a match with O’Reilly tonight, and he got punched in the jaw.

This main event is between two of the best wrestlers in NXT, and whoever wins could up their place in line for a shot at NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Speaking of Kross, he was standing in Gorilla position, and stared down O’Reilly as he came to the ring. He knows that O’Reilly will step up, it’s just a matter of when.

Cameron Grimes Is Rich In Wrestling Ability

Starting this one with some chain wrestling, O’Reilly got a wrist lock and stayed calm as Grimes struggled to break free. He’d take Grimes to the mat, before ending up in a Double Wrist Lock. O’Reilly slipped free and got the side headlock, before Grimes was able to counter that as well. Grimes might be rich now in money, but he’s always been rich in skills.

On commentary, Barrett mentions that he would pay Grimes to take the IP of The Coore, one of WWE’s worst factions. Back in the ring, O’Reilly nailed a running knee strike to the jaw of Grimes, before hitting a jumping armbreaker. Some kicks to the leg showed O’Reilly just overall breaking Grimes down, before he countered a sunset flip into an armbar.

Grimes broke free, stuck the landing on a backflip over O’Reilly before hitting a German Suplex. O’Reilly rolled outside, only to be thrown into the barricade. During the picture in picture break, Grimes worked over the neck of O’Reilly in the middle of the ring.

Back from the break, O’Reilly would finally break the Neck Crank of Grimes with some shots to the mid-section, only to be stunned with a forearm strike. Grimes launched a lariat, focusing on that neck. Remember, that is what was injured when Cole hit a brainbuster on the steel steps, and Grimes was yanking his neck back with a crossface-like hold.

O’Reilly would be able to break free, and showed his signature striking skills as he battered Grimes with kicks and swept the leg. An armbreaker landed, before O’Reilly turned a back suplex into a heel hook attempt, but Grimes rolled to the ropes. A kick to the leg flipped Grimes inside out.

O’Reilly would apply a chokehold and nearly make Grimes pass out, before nailing a knee strike. Grimes came right back with a big sidewalk slam, before they’d trade high impact strikes in the middle of the ring. A high kick sent O’Reilly off the ropes and right into a standing Spanish Fly.

O’Reilly wouldn’t stay down, hit the rebound lariat, Axe & Smash strike combo, before hitting the brainbuster. He’d go up to the top rope, nail that diving knee strike and that was it. After selling his soul to The Undisputed Era for years, this is the true Kyle O’Reilly. If you thought he looked good in the matches with Finn Balor, just know that you haven’t seen anything yet. Will Kyle O’Reilly be able to take the NXT Championship from Karrion Kross? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
