We’ve been watching wrestling most of our lives and have seen our fair share of injuries, and seeing Humberto Carillo’s injury reminded us how much wrestlers risk to entertain us.
We try to point out as much as possible how much we appreciate what wrestlers do and go through as every move they make can be career or life ending.
From Owen Hart to Droz to Carrillo, it can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone.
All it takes is one slip or miss timed move, but last night was a little different.
We’re used to seeing sunset powerbombs off the turnbuckles or off the ring apron to the floor, but last night for whatever reason things went wrong enough it looked like Carrillo suffered a serious injury.
Reportedly on the mend
Thankfully, there have been reports online from wrestlingnews.co and others that Carrillo’s okay and could wrestle today if he had to.
That’s great news and we hope it was something simple like a bruise and he gets well soon.
WWE and Carrillo haven’t addressed his injury as of this writing, but this morning Carrillo took to Twitter to assuage any concern and promised Sheamus it’s not over yet.
“Last night was the first time I couldn’t finish a match in my whole wrestling career, but when you push the limits as I do anything can happen in a split of second.
This is not over
@WWESheamus
…. untill next time! #WWERaw”

Injury angle?
After the match was called prematurely, we expect the WWE to switch to an injury storyline for the next week or so while Carrillo heals and gets back to 100%.
It’ll be a good change for him to work the mic while he and Sheamus ready for their next match.
Since Sheamus technically won because Carrillo couldn’t continue, it’d take Carrillo out of the running for a shot at the United States Championship for the moment.
Carrillo could even play a role in any Sheamus match until then by distracting him to give someone else a chance or just annoy Sheamus to no end.
However they decide to work this, we hope reports are accurate and Humberto Carrillo’s injury isn’t as bad as it looked and if they’re wrong we wish him a speedy recovery on both fronts.
This was a great reminder to not take what we see for granted, and we’re looking forward to seeing Carrillo and Sheamus in action once again.
