At one time, people called Ricochet a king, but now he’s just the king of WWE’s lowest ranked show, that being WWE’s Main Event. That said, he’s had some of his best matches in 2020 on this show, facing the likes of Shane Thorne, Andrade, and now Humberto Carillo. Can Ricochet regain some more momentum with a big win over Carillo in what should be a fast paced affair?
Matching The Pace With Ease
A show of sportsmanship would start this match, before they’d lock up. Carilllo got a hammerlock, but Ricochet worked his way out quickly and gained control, taking Carillo to the mat. Ricochet would be sent off the ropes, and he’d pick the pace up effortlessly, sending Carllio to the outside and feinting a dive.
Carillo would match the pace set by Ricochet with a springboard armdrag, before feinting the dive as well. After another fist bump from Carillo, he’d eat a hook kick to the face, with Ricochet ready to get serious in this match.
Carillo would find himself tied up in the middle of the ring, and Ricochet would slip this into a pinfall getting a two count. Ricochet would go for a back elbow but would be caught in a back suplex. He’d land on his feet, and try for a vertical suplex, Carillo countering into a roll up.
Ricochet Shows His Hidden Mean Streak
Another big kick and some hard strikes to Carillo, and Ricochet would always be looking to set up the kick back. Carillo rolled through into a pinfall, but Ricochet would nearly get him with another kick. This would be dodged, and Carillo would hit his first big strike of the match.
This match would be in Carillios corner, with him hitting a big missile dropkick, sending Ricochet across the ring. Getting only a two count, Carillo would set up the moonsault, but Ricochet would go to the apron. After a kick to the head, Ricochet would roll into the ring, and be hit with a crossbody, however he’d roll through and get a two count.
Finally getting Carillo in position, Ricochet would hit the Recoil, and get a hard fought win. This match was frantic at the best of times, and Ricochet got to showcase that he’s got another level of aggression stored within. Should Ricochet show this side more often?
