Recently, Eva Marie made her return to WWE. This was controversial with most fans, with Twitter replies across all posts being flooded with messages blaming WWE for releasing talent to bring Marie back into the company. Despite this, her return storyline has been getting some solid reviews, especially from Vince McMahon himself.
A Recap Of Eva Marie’s Recent Events In WWE Alongside Piper Niven
For those not keeping up with WWE, Eva Marie left the company back in 2017 after starting training at the WWE Performance Center in 2013. Over the following years she launched a fashion line under her NEM brand, acted in some TV shows, and launched a fitness program. In June 2021, she rejoined WWE. Right out of the gates, it became clear she won’t be entering a full time in-ring role when she brought out Piper Niven to defeat Naomi for her.
Niven would not be named in her debut, but the former NXT UK standout tore through Naomi in record time. However, Marie wouldn’t even acknowledge her real name, and instead dub her as Doudrop. Later that same night, Niven would abandon Marie during their tag team match with Asuka & Naomi. That is where the story currently stands, with that match having taken place last week on Monday Night RAW.
Vince McMahon Is A Huge Fan Of The Storyline, Impressed With Piper Niven
Through a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, we would learn that this pairing has been a hit with Vince McMahon. We can expect to see a lot more of them in the coming weeks due to this. In addition, he has been super impressed with Piper Niven so far which is great news as Niven is a top level worker, and a strong asset to the RAW Women’s division if fully utilized.
Vince reportedly wasn’t big on the angle before it made its way to TV, but was quickly sold after seeing Niven in action in the ring, and with her overall expressions. We will be seeing a lot more development with these two in the coming weeks, and with the backing of Vince? We could be in for a helluva ride.
