Bobby Fish has had a rough time re-adapting since coming back to WWE NXT. He was injured during WarGames in 2020, and by the time he returned? The Undisputed Era was done. Kyle O’Reilly & Adam Cole were back into a blood feud, and Roderick Strong had left the brand. Strong is now back as part of Diamond Mine, and they had an open challenge set for tonight, which Fish gladly accepted. He won’t get his former ally, but rather Tyler Rust.
Bobby Fish Takes His Eye Off The Ball
Fish would start up Rust, and had the full fan support. He’d miss a high kick on Rust who nailed a back suplex. A quick grounded Dragon Screw kept Fish down, before Rust grabbed a wrist lock. He’d bend the elbow and stomp down, before kicking at the back of Fish. Fish would give a kick of his own before ending up in a headscissor hold.
He’d be able to break free, and nailed a nasty exploder suplex right into the ropes. Strong would get up onto the apron and draw the attention of his former Undisputed Era ally. This gave enough of a distraction for Rust to nail a chop block to the knee of Fish, before finishing him off with a roundhouse kick to the head.
After the match, Diamond Mine would surround Fish in the ring. KUSHIDA would rush the ring to make the save, furthering his issues with Roderick Strong. This championship clash is coming very soon, and could be the best match in the history of the belt in it’s time on NXT.
LA Knight Has A Million Dollar Butler
At the Great American Bash, LA Knight would bend the rules to retain the Million Dollar Championship. The win came with an extra condition, where Cameron Grimes would become the butler of Knight in defeat. Tonight, Grimes suffers the consequences of that defeat, as his butler duties commence.
Knight was complaining that Grimes was late for work, by a couple of minutes. However, Grimes at least showed up for work. He is a man of his word and will go “To The Broom.” but Knight doesn’t want anything done by someone looking so scrappy. Knight would get him a full haircut and some proper butler clothes. Grimes was excited to look so good, showing that literally nothing can break his stride. Knight however, felt he looked like a penguin.
Grimes would get his first job, mowing the lawn. He wasn’t allowed to use the ride on, instead given the old push mower which Grimes claimed his nan would chase him around with as a kid. Knight is annoyed that Grimes has remained so positive.
