Mike Tindall, who is best known for being married to Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, has opened up on how he stopped a major fight during England’s recent Euro 2020 final loss to Italy.

The former rugby player is known for being strong and resolute on the pitch. But now, it seems, he was able to put himself in harms way in order to protect others from suffering major damage. During an interview on ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast’, Mike revealed how the drunken behaviour of some fans got out of control.
He said: “A guy was there the whole time, smashed out of his face…He was just too busy shouting…[before he]ends up getting into a fight with another one that’s straight behind my seat.” Then as events further transpired, the person in question had blood all over him.
Knowing that this could be about to get very dangerous, Mike felt he had no choice but to intervene. Rather than using some brute force himself, he behaved in a diplomatic manner by making sure that he got his point across.
And luckily for Mike, as well as the others involved, it worked a treat. He added: “It got to a stage where this guy literally was trying to pile this guy in the face…And I just pulled these guys apart, said to one of them, ‘What are you doing?…He wandered off, blood all over him.”
Mike, for his part, is a father to three kids (Mia, Lena and Lucas), which made things even more disturbing for him. While his kids were not there at the event, it still left Mike feeling shaken up at what could have been. After all, it could have happened to his kids.
He continued: “If I was there with my kids, I would not have been that happy about it. Walking down Wembley Way was a disgrace… It’s a small minority, but it’s, unfortunately, the minority that you only remember.”
