Prince William and Kate Middleton are worried about how their son Prince George will be able to cope with life in the future.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Are Worried About Prince George’s Future
George, for his part, has already turned 8-years-old. While that may still be considered young, he has already started to undertake some Royal duties. This was shown during his last outing at the Euro 2020 final. This does show that George has maturity, but at the same time, that event showed the exact reasons why they are concerned about George.
George had suffered social media abuse, following the final, because he had not worn an England shirt during the final. Naturally, his critics felt that he was not being patriotic by choosing to wear the traditional suit and tie. This toxicity that is ever-present within social media has gotten them worried.
A source told Us Weekly: “Of course, William and Kate are nervous about what the future holds for George. He’s growing up in a different era to his parents. Times have changed since then. There wasn’t social media or internet trolls when William and Kate were children.”
One of the ways in which Kate and William have countered this has been to reduce the number of events that George will attend. By doing so, they hope to avoid the media intrusion that has followed some of the other Royal members. Take, for example, Sarah Ferguson. She made waves when she came and stated that she was left feeling hurt by not being invited to William’s wedding.
At the same time, though, she was left feeling delighted at attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. It is this similar disconnect and friction that William and Kate want to avoid for their kids. The source added: “The Cambridges feel it’s necessary to shield George, Charlotte and Louis from the spotlight and have become cautious about the appearances [they] make.
“Kate and William are being more selective about the events he attends.” There is only so much that William and Kate can do to protect their kids. As they get older, they will ultimately have to make their own choices. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
