Last week, Ridge Holland made his return to WWE NXT following a freak accident which saw him blow both legs out. He has sided with Oney Lorcan & Pete Dunne, helping them to defeat the duo of Tomasso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher. This week, he returns to the ring for a one on one encounter with Ikeman Jiro, who is looking to rebound after a first round loss in the NXT Breakout tournament.
Ridge Holland Lets Ten Months Of Anger Out
Jiro was already in the ring as Holland made his way there. With Lorcan & Dunne at ringside, Jiro had to figure out where to focus, but Holland dashing in to grab a headlock answered this. A big uppercut sent Jiro flopping across the ring, before taking a knee drop to the face.
Holland applied a sleeper hold, and Jiro broke out with a jawbreaker. Some big shotei palm strikes stunned Holland, before Jiro was picked up and tossed over the top rope. A pounce sent him into the barricade, before back in the ring he’d be suplexed high. Jiro would have his jacket torn off, and had one final burst before taking another big suplex.
Pete Dunne Addresses All The So Called Badasses In NXT
Yet another suplex launched Jiro, as Holland reminded everyone how long he was gone. Ten months of anger was coming out, and the fans being behind Jiro couldn’t save him. A Northern Lights Driver dropped Jiro on his head, and this one was over. It was a mauling, and Jiro will learn to pick better battles.
Dunne would get on the microphone and say that everyone thinks they’re bad until someone truly steps in their way. Ciampa & Thatcher were torn down by Holland last week, and now Dunne, Lorcan & Holland are easily the three most dangerous men in all of NXT. This is not going to be an easy group to deal with, especially once Danny Burch is back.
This was as pure as a squash match gets. Ikeman Jiro did just enough to get the crowd behind him, and make the abuse at the hands of Ridge Holland all the worse for the fans. Holland is set for big things in NXT, and there might be no stopping him. Match Rating: 1/5 (*)
