After an uncertain start in AEW, The Young Bucks have truly found their rhythm in 2021. Teaming up alongside Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers in The Elite, they have been able to let their entertaining heel antics run wild. Part of this includes a running joke where they use their Twitter bio to push stories along or to address rumors. This has kept them on the pulse of big news in wrestling as well, and that includes recent NXT news.
The Young Bucks Mock The Upcoming Hiring Practices Of WWE
Their latest bio on Twitter is one that pokes fun at the changes coming to the NXT brand. From the moment Dynamite launched until earlier this year, AEW Dynamite was going head to head with WWE NXT every Wednesday night. Aside from one or two bright spots, AEW was steadily winning in the ratings and fan reception. This is something that has set up the coming changes.
WWE CEO Vince McMahon wants bigger and younger names in the NXT brand, which The Young Bucks would poke fun at with their latest Twitter bio which simply states “Very Tall. Not in our 30’s” This is what WWE is claiming to want for their attempts to make Wrestlemania headlining stars. Unfortunately for The Young Bucks, neither of these things are true, but they have already made it clear they didn’t want to be in WWE.
They Have Turned Down Many Offers To Join WWE Prior To Starting Up AEW
Prior to starting up AEW, The Young Bucks travelled the globe as one of wrestling’s hottest acts. From NJPW to ROH and beyond, they were everywhere. Given that NXt was looking to essentially become a super indy in the late 2010’s, it’s no shock that Triple H was really persistent in signing The Young Bucks.
While on the Talk N’ Shop podcast earlier this year, they would talk about how many offers they were given from WWE. “I don’t know how many times I told him no. We must have declined the offer, in the end, I don’t want to exaggerate, it had to have been at least four or five times, and by the end of every conversation he would have another call scheduled with me in two weeks and I would go “how did he do that?” What, I just told him no. We’d be laughing by the end of the conversation.”
