NXT UK has a new top dog with Ilja Dragunov, who was able to defeat WALTER at NXT Takeover 36. However, he might already have his first challenger lined up following the latest episode of NXT UK. The main event was a Knockout Or Submission Only match, which finally ended a drawn out feud between Rampage Brown & Joe Coffey, which is only the tip of the iceberg!
Aoife Valkyrie Soars Once Again
This was a very compact card with just three matches, meaning each was quality. The opening contest saw two of the best in the NXT UK women’s division clash, as Aoife Valkyrie took on Jinny in a No Disqualification match. Valkyrie is seemingly groomed to be the one to dethrone Meiko Satomura, and is one of the brand’s brightest young stars. Her clash with Jinny on this episode might have been her best yet in WWE, getting great reviews from fans.
We’d also see another first round match in the Heritage Cup Contendership tournament, with Kenny Williams taking on Oliver Carter. This one wouldn’t even reach the final round, with Williams wrapping up the action two falls to one in just four rounds. Williams will face Dar in the next round, setting up the first semi-finals match.
Rampage Brown Could Be First In Line For Ilja Dragunov
After last meeting in a triple threat also including Ilja Dragunov, Rampage Brown & Joe Coffey needed one more match. Rampage was able to win their first clash, and Coffey their second. They needed a definitive finish to this feud, and that could only come with a certain type of fight. So in this episode, they met with only a knockout or submission able to finish this one.
They left everything on the line, and showed their incredible chemistry once again. Rampage & Coffey are truly two of the best in NXT UK when given the right setting, and after 19 brutal minutes of action. A knockout blow from Rampage Brown was able to keep Coffey down, getting him the win and ending this feud. There is no doubt that this is going to put him in line for a title shot against Dragunov, who might be impossible to keep down given his Takeover performance.
Matches were announced for next week, with Blair Davenport taking on Nina Samuels, and Nathan Frazer meeting Teoman in a Heritage Cup tournament match. Will you be watching NXT UK next week? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
