Over the past few weeks, NXT Tag Team Champions MSK & Imperium have been trading in a war of words. Tonight, things will finally get physical, as the time for talk has come and gone. To make things even better, the titles are on the line. This will be a clash of styles, and we will truly find out whose style is able to control the ring. It’s been a hard year for Imperium, but with WALTER in the building? The vibe is different. They are serious and ready to fight.
Imperium Have Rarely Looked So Dominant
Lee would start off with Aichner, who would throw him across the ring twice, prompting Lee to remark “Boy, you strong.” He’d get a headlock on Aichner before being thrown aside again, but just kept on coming. Carter tagged in as Aichner was dropped in the corner, before being hit with a Bronco Buster.
Bartel would get a blind tag to save his partner, before taking Carter down and applying a beautiful wristlock. A huge uppercut dropped Carter after they broke free and hit the ropes, stopping him in his tracks. Carter went high risk but took a punch to the midsection on the way down.
He’d manage a tag to Lee, who helped his partner cut their opponents down with kicks before tandem dives to the outside. Both would be caught out of the air, and slammed hard onto the floor. Imperium were on their A-Game tonight, and back in the ring, Lee would be isolated with a beatdown from Aichner.
MSK Survive Another Match
Bartel tagged in and hit a diving uppercut for a two count, before getting Aichner back in. A huge lariat all but beheaded Wes Lee, and Aichner has his number all match. Bartel was back in and Lee would try to get free but ended up into an ankle lock. Some quick tags were made, with Imperium setting Lee up for a double dropkick.
Finally, Lee would get free as WALTER came to ringside. Carter rushed into the ring and went after Aichner, nailing a huge PK before tagging in Lee to hit Hot Hot Heat. Bartel broke up the pin as WALTER distracted the referee. European bomb was set up, but Ilja Dragunov would take out WALTER to distract Imperium. Back in the ring, MSK would hit their finisher to get another victory.
A fast paced and hard hitting tag team match, but one that suffered from a very messy ending. Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** 3/4)
The NXT Tag Team Champions would try to help Dragunov, but WALTER took them out with the greatest of ease. Dragunov however dropped WALTER, before taking a three on one attack and being laid out.
