It was originally reported that Jim Ross was going to be used differently in AEW. Going from a weekly commentary role into a more special guest role for bigger matches. This most likely meaning that we would see him at big events like PPVs and TV special episodes. These reports came from multiple sources that suggest this would happen at the end of this year after Jim Ross’ original contract is over. With sources saying that Jim Ross‘ Role will be changing in the near future.
Rumour Killer
These Jim Ross changes in AEW doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon as Tony Khan has now commented on these rumours in the latest Wrestling Observer Daily;
“Tony Khan said reports that they are looking to remove Jim Ross as announcer are inaccurate. He said he’s never said that, and he’s also told Ross he’s never said that. Ross has said the report was news to him.”
This seems to clarify that these reports were not true, and we will be hearing Jim Ross’ iconic commentary voice for the foreseeable future. We will see and hear him on Wednesday and the All Out PPV.
