WWE Smackdown Results returned as the match introductions commenced.
In the ring, Zayn and Dominik locked up and Dominik slipped out of the corner, and he continued to counter Zayn’s attempts.
Zayn hit a clothesline to halt Dominik’s surge, but Dominik it a leg scissors to put Zayn into the ropes.
Zayn slipped out of the ring to avoid the 619 and headed up the ramp, but Rey stopped him and Dominik hit a flip over the top rope and rolled Zayn into the ring.
Dominik was distracted with telling Rey he’s got this and ate a Helluva Kick for another loss.
Backstage, Naomi came up to Deville about her match and Deville said she forgot and come back to her next week.

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs. Finn Balor
The Usos jumped Finn Balor at ringside before the match started and slammed the steel steps into him a couple of times and then threw him into the ring.
The Street Profits came out and ran off the Usos, leaving Balor in the ring looking pretty rough.
Reigns’ music started and he came out looking confident and with Paul Heyman at his side.

Back from commercial, Reigns stood tall in the middle of the ring while Balor was being looked at by the officials but Balor got to his feet.
When the bell rang, they circled each other and Reigns backed him into a corner and hit a belly to belly suplex and then stomped Balor.
Reigns hammered Balor with clubbing blows in the corner and hit the ropes and ran into a low dropkick to the knee.
Balor hit several kicks on Reigns’ left leg, and Reigns hit with a headbutt. Balor hit a slingblade and ran into a right by Reigns.

Reigns hit a chokeslam for a pin attempt as we headed to commercial.
Back from commercial, Reigns readied for a Superman punch, but Balor ducked out of the way and hit a chop, then caught Reigns with a double boot and forearm.
Reigns hit a right and Balor connected with an overhead kick to drop both.
Balor took Reigns down and hit a double stomp, then hit a series of shoulders on Reigns before Reigns sent him to the floor.
Balor makes a comeback
Balor caught him in the ring apron and stomped him down and hit a flip over the top rope, then rolled Reigns into the ring but Reigns rolled out of the way of a double stomp and hit a Superman Punch for a near pinfall.
Balor countered a spear with a knee, and rolled Reigns up for a pin attempt, and then hit a reverse DDT and elbow for another pin attempt.
Balor hit a dropkick and headed to the top to hit a double stomp for a near pinfall. Reigns kicked out with a low blow, and then pounded away on Balor.

Reigns locked in a Guillotine for the win despite a spirited attempt by Balor to reach the ropes.
After the match, the lights turned red for a moment to make Reigns pause on the ramp. He then continued up but we’re curious if Lesnar will appear after the show as a treat for the fans.
This was the best match of the night and we’re glad there wasn’t any additional interference as the multiple DQs really took away from the other matches.
