Once upon a time, EVIL was a member of Los Ingobernables de Japon, and was an ally with Shingo Takagi. However a lust for power led him to turn on his faction, join BULLET CLUB, and now he occasionally gets shots at the world championship after a really bad reign. That said, when EVIL is motivated?
He’s one of the hardest hitting brawlers in the world. His last clash with Shingo was great, and hopefully that could be the same tonight. EVIL has his own branch of BULLET CLUB in House of Torture, which just brought SHO into it’s ranks last night. They’ll be a factor, and L.I.J likes to let their members prove they can beat any odds, meaning Shingo could be alone.
House Of Torture Makes Their Presence Known
EVIL would only be somehow allowed all three members of House Of Torture at ringside for this match, and he’d go seek council before the opening lock up. SHO would give some words, and is someone who heavily scouted and defeated Shingo Takagi in the past. Getting on the apron with a chair, SHO would distract Shingo before EVIL grabbed a headlock. EVIL would be shoved off, but came back with a heavy shoulder tackle.
Shingo would fire back up and take EVIL down with a shoulder tackle before one of his perfect vertical suplexes. EVIL slipped to the outside, and Shingo followed after with a punch to the face loaded up. Dick Togo made the save on EVIL and lured him into the ring, and Shingo tried to fight back, but Yujiro distracted the referee as SHO yanked him out and sent him into the barricade.
On the outside, Shingo would be rammed into the barricade twice, before he’d have a chair put around his neck as EVIL hit a home run with a second. Shingo wouldn’t be phased, and got back into the ring and thrown into an exposed corner – more House Of Torture interference. Thrown outside, SHO, Dick Togo & Yujiro Takahashi would stomp Shingo out as EVIL shoved Red Shoes into the corner.
An abdominal stretch would be assisted by all of House of Torture, with Red Shoes breaking the hold – but not kicking them out. EVIL would hit a big chop in the corner, before Shingo would finally get some big offense with a DDT. A scoop slam and senton would follow, with the crowd 100% behind Shingo.
Red Shoes Lays Down The Law
EVIL would slip to the outside, but Shingo would follow and be attacked by SHO & Takahashi. Red Shoes would deal with them poorly, as EVIL & Dick Togo were sat at the timekeepers table. Shingo would drive SHO & Takahashi into the barricade and send them flying, a feel good moment due to how often EVIL does that to the timekeeper Abe-san. House Of Torture was kicked out, and maybe we can have a match now.
The crowd was on fire now, and Shingo would pull EVIL into the ring. Noshigami was set up, but EVIL fought free. A second attempt would see EVIL launched face first into the mat. The wheelbarrow German Suplex would follow, and a sliding lariat. Made In Japan was set up, before EVIL would break out and use Red Shoes to hit Magic Killer. EVIL set up and nailed a big superplex, before applying the Darkness Scorpion. Shingo would be able to get the bottom rope and free himself, but EVIL called for the STO. He’d be countered and take a huge lariat.
Shingo Takagi Vanquishes EVIL
Dick Togo was back at ringside, but thankfully not SHO or Yujiro Takahashi. Shingo would punish EVIL with a series of forearms, and nail him with Made In Japan only for Togo to yank Red Shoes out of the ring and choke Shingo with the steel wire. Yujiro was back next and hit the Pimp Juice, but finally backup arrived. BUSHI would hit the ring and take out everyone before SHO got him with a German Suplex.
SHO would break a steel chair over the head of Shingo, before setting up Shock Arrow. Enter Tetsuya Naito & SANADA, and finally House Of Darkness was equally matched. EVIL would hit a low blow on Naito, before looking to hit Shingo with the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Shingo fought him off, but wouldn’t use the belt.
He blocked a low blow, punched EVIL out. Finally, Last of The Dragon would land, and EVIL was vanquished once again. House Of Torture tried their best, L.I.J had to make the save, but Shingo Takagi is still the top dog in New Japan Pro Wrestling. They like to fight alone, but this was an emergency in the making.
Despite a very rough start due to House Of Torture interference, but it did make the eventual victory of Shingo sweeter. It was a deeply frustrating match, but also one that was so satisfying in the end. The action was hard hitting, the crowd was deeply invested, and the right man won. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
Finally, Hiromu Takahashi would limp out to the ring, and L.I.J was all here to celebrate. Shingo will now carry that belt into the G1 Climax, something that could ensure he makes his way to Wrestle Kingdom as the champion. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
