It’s Monday and that can only mean another edition of the flagship show, WWE Raw! Which of course means it’s time for another preview!
Natalya vs. Asuka
Recently Nattie pinned Asuka in tag team action, a non-title win over the Kabuki Warriors alongside Charlotte. Since then, Becky has taken her place in the team and gotten a shot at the tag titles for seemingly no reason. Now we’re led to this one on one match where I suppose Asuka might be getting her win back just to try and take away from this narrative.
In truth it wouldn’t really make things more sensible at all, but if Asuka’s going after Becky in the near future as suspected, and hinted at by pinning her last week, she probably should be avenging this one pretty definitively. The match itself honestly has a fair bit of potential.
Rey Mysterio to make an appearance
In his first major appearance since taking a chair to Brock Lesnar, Rey is being vaguely advertised for tonight’s Raw. I can’t really guess as to what he’ll be doing. Personally, I’d like it if we brought back the little plot thread of Shelton Benjamin going after Rey back when he was in a cast. Seems like he should be squaring off with him fairly soon. With him being an established friend of Lesnar’s, it just makes sense. Plus that could be a really, really good match! But I don’t really have any reason to think they remember any of that.
Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins challenge the Viking Raiders for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships
Yes, Hawkins & Ryder are challenging for the gold. They did actually hold these titles earlier this year if you can recall that, technically won them at WrestleMania even. Of course they disappeared immediately after, even whilst still holding the gold, and when they came back it was just to lose ’em.
The way this was announced, it seemed like they somehow earned them. I’m guessing they defeated some team on Main Event for the shot, who could say? Odds of these two suddenly making their way into the Survivor Series three-way tag match seems slim regardless. The only question is how long they last in this match.
Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair team up
This tandem persists. It seems likely to me that as Asuka goes after Becky’s title, Becky continues doing the same to her. This is certainly a super team and if they end up challenging the Kabuki Warriors in a crazy match at TLC, I ain’t gonna be unhappy about that.
Seth Rollins vs. Andrade
Rollins has, seemingly out of nowhere, offered Andrade his spot at Survivor Series if he can beat him. That is to say, his spot as Team Captain of Raw’s men’s team. Andrade has been on a winning streak for a while, but largely just from beating Sin Cara over and over. This will easily be his biggest match since coming to Raw.
It should also be a great one, crowd reactions to Rollins notwithstanding. What’s funny is if Andrade wins he could theoretically then turn around and completely change the Survivor Series team…
