PrPrince Andrewince Andrew is in line to receive an award from Queen Elizabeth II at her upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebration next year.
Prince Andrew Will Be Honoured At Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee
The event will mark the Queen’s 70th year in charge of the monarchy and will be the first major celebration she has conducted without her late husband, Prince Philip.
Andrew’s award will be part of a bigger initiative to recognise those who have dedicated themselves to improving the public at large.
There are going to be roughly 40,000 medals that will be given to a cross-section of society, including the army, ambulance and prison services. While it is a historic event in and of itself, an award for Andrew may not go down too well.
After all, he was accused of having connections with Jeffrey Epstein, who was then convicted as a paedophile. Not only that but Andrew has been accused of sexual misconduct, which has currently seen him facing a lawsuit in New York.
Despite the controversy surrounding Andrew, there are plenty of other Royal members who will be honoured. In an official statement by the Royal family, a spokesperson said: “A wide number of members of the Royal Family will receive the Platinum Jubilee medal in line with the previous two jubilees.”
And one of those who can be expected to attend is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Although they may no longer be part of the day-to-day affairs of the Royals, they have still been giving back to the community in their own way.
Meghan has recently set up her new 40×40 campaign, which is designed to get women who have suffered from the consequences of the pandemic back into work.
In addition, the couple have also donated to various organisations, including a women’s organisation in Afghanistan following the resurgence of the Taliban.
Whether the couple will attend the event is another matter, though. Regardless of Harry and Meghan, there will be plenty of opportunities to pay homage to those who have made such a difference to the public.
And that should be at the forefront of everyone who is going to attend and be awarded. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below. Remember to stay up to date with the latest news on TheOvertimer. Don’t forget to visit Screen Stingerfor great videos, news, and gameplay!
