It started to look like January will be an exciting time for wrestling fans. Most contracts seem to be at the end of January, making February more likely the month of massive debuts. But it’s possible we will see some massive changes in rosters across all companies.
There is still a couple of months before January, meaning that we may see a lot more news on contracts that end in January, but at the moment, there is a lot already reported on contracts in January.
All contracts that seem to be running out
The current contracts that have been confirmed or rumoured to be ending in January 2022 are Kevin Owens, Rush, Dragon Lee, Johnny Gargarno and Jericho. These are five massive wrestlers in the industry who could become top tier talent in any wrestling company, really making everyone a game-changer.
It’s also possible that there are more contracts that will be reported closer to the time. Currently, we don’t have any signs of any Impact wrestling contracts that have been confirmed to run out in January. It’s also possible WWE and ROH have more contracts ending in January. It’s unlikely we will see more from AEW due to the fact that the company is still very young.
Where could they end up?
It’s very likely that we do see Jericho resign with AEW after him being one of the core members and has spoken about commentating. Kevin Owens is already teasing his move to AEW, making it likely for him to debut there in either January or February. Rush, Dragon Lee and Johnny Gargano seem to be the massive wild cards here as it’s very hard to know where they would go next.
It does feel like Rush could join his former stablemate, Andrade, in AEW, but nothing has been mentioned yet. Andrade, however, is talking about two wrestlers who will go up against Lucha Brothers. So it’s possible he may be talking about Dragon Lee and Rush. Gargano could, however, end up anywhere from AEW and Raw.
