Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here and we are closing in on a pretty damn crazy weekend of wrestling. The long talked about NXT main roster invasion has finally happened over the past few weeks, and we’ve been led to a truly unique couple of shows. Rounding out the weekend, WWE Survivor Series 2019 is upon us, and it’s set to be a very unique show to say the very least. It’s a three way war, with Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT! Plus, three very interesting world title matches will be taking place as well.
Regardless of what you think of the build, the card itself looks incredible. It should be a surreal experience seeing these bouts come to head. And I’ll be doing a match by match preview for the whole show, so let’s get to it!
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler
Seems like far and away the most significant of the Brand Supremacy matches. There’s actually a chance it could headline. It is after all the match on the poster and if you consider the women’s titles to be equivalent to the male world titles, then this is three world champions all squaring off. I mean if that speculated Fiend/Brock/Cole match ended up happening, there’s not really any question that it’d be the main event, right?
But regardless of where it is on the show, it’s a pretty damn big match. Shayna Baszler, in the midst of holding the NXT Women’s Championship for what feels like my entire life, is now officially making her main roster debut on a huge show. She can now show the whole what she is! And what she isn’t! Becky Lynch is of course the Man, and Bayley is enjoying a fairly good heel run thus far.
Together, they should certainly make for an interesting match. If produced and planned carefully enough – in other words if you treated it like it was Ronda in there – we could theoretically see something awesome. As for who wins, well, there’d be a lot of reason to give it to Bayley, to really add some extra steam to her as a top heel champ. She’d have something to gloat about forever which is generally a good thing. For Becky, she’s the top woman’s wrestler going in WWE and will be for the foreseeable future, so it’s always easy enough to win this.
But if they wanna really put NXT over, they gotta have them win this series, and it’d be all the stronger if they did it the way I’ve laid it out, letting Raw and SmackDown have the lesser matches on the card and giving NXT all the big ones. And lest we forget; Shayna Baszler da bess. Shayna wins.
WWE Survivor Series 2019 will be airing this Saturday on the WWE Network at 7 PM Eastern Time, 6 Central. There will also be a two hour pre-show leading into the event. The show emanates from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, and I will be giving you a live play by play of the show as it happens. Stay tuned!
