Prince William Sees Prince Andrew As A Threat To The Royals
That is according to a Royal source. William, for his part, is being touted as taking a leading role in the monarchy following the death of Prince Philip.
While that is seen as a natural progression, given his age and experience in conducting himself in the public eye, the presence of Andrew has not helped things.
Andrew’s links with Jeffrey Epstein have not helped the image of the Royals. Not only that, but he is facing a lawsuit over some sexual misconduct in New York.
And to make matters even more difficult, Andrew is reportedly set to be rewarded by Queen Elizabeth II at her Platinum Jubilee in 2022 with a medal for his service to the monarchy.
That is why William does not want Andrew to have a huge role. A source told The Sunday Times the following: “There is no way in the world he’s ever coming back.
“The family will never let it happen. William is no fan of Uncle Andrew.” On closer inspection, who could blame William. After all, the Royal family have not had the easiest time of late.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the Royals in 2020 was extremely damaging following their claims about the Royals in their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey. And as a way to stop anything like this from happening again, William is primed to act should he need to.
The source added: “Any suggestion that there isn’t gratitude for the institution, anything that could lead anyone in the public to think that senior members of the royal family aren’t grateful for their position, [William thinks] is really dangerous.”
It is clear that Andrew will not be a part of William’s plans for the Royals, but until he actually takes centre stage, the decisions will most likely lay with the Queen.
And with her needing all the support that she can get following Philip’s death, there is a chance that Andrew will still have some say in the Royal’s affairs. But for William, his position looks very clear.
