The organisation (Ethic) prides itself on only investing in companies that do not do damage to the environment. And by following this noble cause, it is hoped that people will be rewarded for keeping the planet safe from potential hazards.
The couple, for their part, have been engaging in many ventures since they left the Royals. Some of these included a Netflix deal, as well as a book deal that will detail Harry’s time in the Royal family.
But this move is seen as a way for the couple to make a financial difference in the lives of many people, and in doing so, give back to the community.
In an official statement on their website, the couple said: “When we invest in each other, we change the world. Our choices – of how and where we put our energy – define us as a global community.
This move will make the pair become more relatable with the public. After all, despite leaving the monarchy, the two have been criticised for the lavish lifestyle they have been living.
This was most recently seen when Meghan came to promote her new book entitled ‘The Bench’ at a school in Harlem, New York. In a place that is known for being deprived, Meghan’s decision to turn up to the school wearing visibly expensive clothing drew massive criticism.
And yet, by taking this job, Harry and Meghan are hoping that they can give a voice to those communities that have often been left behind.
The statement added: “We believe it’s time for more people to have a seat at the table when decisions are made that impact everyone. We want to rethink the nature of investing to help solve the global issues we all face.”
Harry and Meghan should be commended for this move. If they can make a difference to people’s lives by simply adding their name to something, then more power to them.
