Impact Wrestling Results returned as Josh Mathews sat down with Josh Alexander and Christian Cage for the summit, and asked Christian what it was like to pin Kenny Omega on the premiere episode of AEW Rampage.
Christian said he knew for the last year he was coming back, and talked about his work ethic and how it was very satisfying to win the title.
It’s near and dear to his heart since Impact Wrestling (TNA) gave him a big opportunity years ago.
When asked about giving up the X-Division Championship, and Alexander said that title means a lot to him as it meant he was arriving as a singles competitor.
He knew he had what it takes, but it wasn’t until he beat Chris Sabin that Option C was a thought and Sabin pushed him to that decision.
When asked if he has any regrets if he loses to Christian, he answered not a single one.

Mathews asked Christian if he sees any of Alexander in him and vice versa.
No more trust
Christian said he see the hunger in his eyes and he’s an overlooked talent, but that’s the end of similarities and Alexander will find out what he means by that when they step into the ring.
Alexander was asked the same thing, and he says he grew up near Christian’s home and he’s followed his career from the beginning and Christian showed him a kid from a small town in Canada could be a champion.
Christian said he’s been on the biggest stage and knows what it takes. He thinks Alexander has trouble channeling his emotions, and it’s sink or swim.
Christian said he’s followed Alexander’s career. He’s a wrestling fan at heart and he watches everything.
Mathews took them back to an AEW fan fest when fans said they wanted him to face Alexander and Christian said he doesn’t know who that is and tried to laugh it off as ribbing.
Alexander told him he’s either a liar then or now and he has no more respect for him and walked off.
Christian closed it off by saying Alexander just proved his point about not being able to control his emotions.
This was a really interesting ending as it kinda puts Christian in a heel light, but not really. We’re looking forward to seeing them face each other and whether Alexander’s time is now or will his idol hold him off.
