Prince William has blasted William Shatner’s reported space flight which had made him the oldest person in the world to be associated with it.
Prince William Shades William Shatner For Not Caring About The Environment
The former actor of the Star Trek franchise made no secret of his venture, and yet, not everyone was left feeling impressed by it all. Step forward: Prince William.
He blasted Shatner for not looking to focus on the existing environmental problems that have been a source of focus for many years. During an interview with BBC News, Prince William did not hold back at his anger.
He said: “We need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live.”
The primary reason why Prince William is so focused on this issue is because he sees the environment as a generational dilemma that is going to plague future people.
This is especially true given that his son Prince George has already been getting involved with environmental projects. And by setting an example, William is hoping that this desire will rub off on the next generation.
He added: “I think that ultimately is what sold it for me – that really is quite crucial to be focusing on this [planet] rather than giving up and heading out into space to try and think of solutions for the future.”
And yet, Prince William feels there is a huge danger ahead if these problems are not addressed. He does not want to be in a situation where George will have to take on a leadership role and continue to address these challenges as it would show that William has failed to do it himself.
Not only that, but it is also important for the children coming up. He continued: “I want the things that I’ve enjoyed, the outdoor life and the sort of nature and environment — I want that to still be there, not just for my children, but everyone else’s children.
“If we’re not careful, we’re robbing from our children’s future.” William is certainly passionate about the environment, but as for the way he goes about it, there should be a change in approach.
