Cora Jade got off to a hot start within WWE NXT 2.0 – even when her debut opponent was beaten down and replaced by the powerful Franky Monet. She would take a beating from the world travelled women’s champion, and was able to steal the win with a roll up. Tonight she is faced by another powerhouse in Elektra Lopez, and could be relying on the chance to pull out another flash pinfall to keep her winning ways alive. Jade is still very young as a wrestler, just three years in the business, meaning a breakout run would be unprecedented at this stage, but far from impossible.
Joe Gacy Will Speak For Harland
Before this match, we would hear from Joe Gacy. He’d explain that we don’t need violence to solve situations. You don’t even need to speak for yourself, Gacy will speak for you and he will take you far. He was saying all this to both the fans – and Harland, who looked to be behind a layer of glass. Who knows what comes next for Gacy & Harland, but Gacy is more unhinged looking by the walk.
Legado Del Fantasma were all accounted for in the ring, and Santos Escobar was pissed that Carmelo Hayes walked away with the NXT North American Championship last week. Tonight, they intend to right some wrongs – but Cora Jade wasn’t waiting for Lopez to start talking.
Cora Jade Catches Elektra Lopez With Small Package
Lopez started the match fast with some knee strikes to the midsection, before throwing Jade right into the corner. Jade would take two big scoop slams in the middle of the ring, but was able to come back and get some blows in before again being thrown around. Lopez is bigger and stronger than someone like Jade, but a crafty roll up caught her for a one count.
Knowing she was almost caught, she’d hit a lariat, and Jade popped up into a Small Package for a three count! This was disputed by commentary and the crowd, as it seemed the shoulders of Lopez weren’t all the way down. However, a win is a win and Jade is on a roll.
