Ever since his surprise return at Summerslam, Brock Lesnar has been better than ever. With his new more rugged look, some smart storyline work alongside Paul Heyman & Roman Reigns, and a good match at Crown Jewel – fans want to see more of The Beast Incarnate. However, as seen on Smackdown Live last night, we don’t always get what we want.
Brock Lesnar Isn’t Planned For WWE TV Until 2022
After the show opened up with a stale promo from Roman Reigns who wanted to see Lesnar show up to come through on a Twitter threat – Lesnar delivered. He would show up and raise hell, and the crowd loved it. Lesnar took out Reigns, The Usos, a referee, a camera and more. The roster rushed down to stop him, and Lesnar stood tall holding the WWE Universal Championship. Things looked great, until Adam Pearce showed up to suspend Brock indefinitely.
As fun as Brock Lesnar is, his time on TV is always limited by his part time status. He isn’t set to be on WWE programming again until 2022, and this was the way for WWE to work that into a storyline. He would get a good mauling in on Pearce, before leaving like a triumphant hero – and we have a good idea when we will see him next.
A Potential Favorite In The Royal Rumble?
With Lesnar off TV until 2022, this makes something very possible now. Given that he now has unfinished business with Roman Reigns, and that match is always saved for big shows – WWE could be looking to run it as a Wrestlemania main event once again. This was always a backup plan WWE had in their back pocket in case they couldn’t get The Rock on board, and that is looking more and more likely.
Lesnar as a savage babyface is something fans like, and an unexpected Lesnar entrance is always huge. If he’s not around until next year, and could be the plan for Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania? He might have just become the odds on favorite to win the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match. This would be his second Rumble win, with the first being back in 2003. Given the circumstances, it feels like something very likely to occur.
