During the on-going tapings of AEW Dark, bits and pieces of information are always going to come out. We’ve already learned Tony Nese made his debut for AEW after showing up in the crowd on Dynamite, and that Bryan Danielson was set to wrestle against Aaron Solo in his AEW Dark debut. However, fans might have gotten to see Danielson step into the ring a little bit sooner – under a mask for the first time since he literally went by The American Dragon in NJPW.
Enter INFINITO – Master Of Airplane Spin & Small Package
When a masked wrestler by the name of Infinito would hit the ring, suddenly a mystery to be solved was afoot. This is not a wrestler anyone had heard of before. It was no one from the local indies, or from Mexico through the partnership with AAA, and they were clearly in great shape.
Initially, Christopher Daniels was suspected, but he was on the Jericho Cruise. It wasn’t Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, the body didn’t match and they have alternate personas as The Super Frogs. However, between the hands matching up (as they were the only exposed part of the body) and the match ending with an airplane spin and small package – it was clearly Bryan Danielson.
Bryan Danielson Is Having A Blast In AEW
This is such a fun thing for the fans who attended the tapings of AEW Dark, and could be a gimmick AEW uses down the line. Danielson is clearly having a fun time in AEW, getting to test himself against the likes of Kenny Omega & Minoru Suzuki, while also being able to dress up like a Luchador and wrestle matches on a show like AEW Dark.
Considering earlier this year in WWE he spoke about being burnt out and potentially wanting to leave wrestling, seeing him pull things like this is a great sign of things to come. AEW might have restored the passion for wrestling in both CM Punk & Bryan Danielson, which not matter how you look at AEW – is 100% a great thing.
