Duchess Camilla Speaks On Her Mother’s Death From Osteoporosis Amid ‘World Osteoporosis Day’
Camilla, for her part, is known for helping Prince Charles undertake his duties. But not much is said about the work that she often does behind the scenes. And this cause highlights just how much of an influence she does have.
Camilla’s mother sadly passed away with the condition in 1994 at the age of 72. The disease has the impact of weakening someone’s bones over time to the point that they become very fragile and therefore more prone to breaking them.
And in order to highlight the dangers of this, Camilla has been looking back at how she watched her mother’s health getting worse. In an interview, she said: “We just watched her shrinking before our eyes.
“I remember when a friend of hers came in one day just to give her a hug, her rib broke. It was as bad as that.” By talking about this health problem, Camilla is hoping that the next generation can take a huge interest in health in order to prevent them from getting like this in their older age.
The importance of health could not be any more important in light of how Queen Elizabeth II has been feeling of late. She was recently advised to give up alcohol for fear that it may impact her negatively.
Not only that, but she had to cancel her visit to Northern Ireland after receiving medical advice. And to top it all off, the Queen was spotted with a walking cane. Therefore, Camilla wants to ensure that her children understand the dangers of this.
She added: “I would show them pictures of my mother, before and after she got osteoporosis. I would make them look at photographs and say, ‘Look, if you don’t take care, that’s what will happen to you.”
Camilla should be applauded for the work that she is doing. She has managed to take such a negative experience and turn it into something positive by offering her help to others who are suffering.
In this way, she is hoping to educate others. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below. Remember to stay up to date with the latest news on TheOvertimer. Don’t forget to visit Screen Juicer for great videos, news, and gameplay!
