Former WWE and Ring of Honor (ROH) star Jimmy Rave revealed on Sunday that he had both his legs amputated due to a staff infection called MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
This happened only months following his retirement from wrestling, and also had his left arm previously amputated dur to the same problems.
He took to twitter to make the announcement.
“Apparently it’s time for me to come clean. This past June I began having trouble walking & went to my surgeon. He determined I had MRSA in both legs & they needed to be amputated immediately. Promoters can tell you along with my peers, I’ve had a history w/this and would cancel.”

A history
MRSA is a bacterial infection that’s resistant to antibiotics and can be deadly, and Rave added to his announcement that has a history with this disease as he had his left arm amputated six months prior to this surgery.
The amputation of his left arm is why he retired from wrestling last December, and now that he’s had further issues he’s asking for help from any that can to help cover his medical costs.
Dailymail.co.uk shared the story and his announcement on Instagram on December 10,2020, concerning his left arm being amputated.
“I have been very blessed for the last 21 years in professional wrestling and getting to live out my dream. Today, that dream has ended for me and I have a new reality.
“This post Tuesday [December 8], my world came crashing down when Doctors found an infection in my left arm. I tried toughing it out but by the time I saw a doctor it was too late and they had to amputate my left arm above the elbow.”
At only 38 years old, Rave’s been dealt a lousy hand, but he’s remained as positive and strong as possible when conveying his thoughts and news updates through social media.
There’s been an outpouring of love and support from the wrestling community and fans, and he’s shared links for anyone that’s willing and able to help him out. Any amount is appreciated.
