Right now, we have our first ever official Queen of WWE, after Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop to win the Queen’s Crown tournament. While the tournament was a letdown to fans due to the short match lengths – things are looking up in regards to the career of Zelina Vega in WWE.
Zelina Vega Needs Big Help As Queen Of Monday Night RAW
However, as shown on Monday Night RAW – Vega isn’t exactly ready for the high stakes of being queen, and could use some muscle. This could be any number of names, but perhaps a perfect way to bring Raquel Gonzalez into the mix. The former NXT Women’s Champion is someone that fans are expecting to see called up before the end of the year, after her loss at Halloween Havoc in a Trick or Street Fight to Mandy Rose.
She was around for Smackdown Live, beating Toni Storm in a dark match – a signal of a coming call up. Coming in at 6 feet tall, Gonzalez is one of the biggest women WWE has on their roster, which makes her perfect to back up Vega in WWE. She could handle most of the fights for Vega, similar to that of Wardlow with MJF in AEW, and a queen should have someone to help her out after all.
This is a pretty simple gimmick, and one that could allow Gonzalez to be easily introduced to fans who might have not seen much – if any of her WWE NXT run. There’s even a simple pay-off at the end, with Gonzalez crushing Vega on a major show, before heading off to tackle the RAW Women’s Champion. Storylines don’t always need to be complicated.
Raquel Gonzalez First Needs To Take Care Of Dakota Kai
However, any plans like this will have to wait until Gonzalez is truly done with NXT 2.0. She lost her title due to an attack from a returning Dakota Kai, who promised to be the one to end her reign back at NXT Takeover 36. While Kai failed there, a shovel shot would be crucial in Rose getting the win at Halloween Havoc.
This feud is expected to heat up on NXT 2.0 tomorrow night, and lead to a main event clash in the coming weeks. Gonzalez has proven herself to be ready for the big times with her reign as NXT Women’s Champion. She’s not perfect, but the main roster right now just needs big bodies with ready characters, as the in-ring stuff just comes with more matches, which it provides over time.
Do you think Gonzalez working alongside Vega could be a good way for fans to be introduced to the powerhouse? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
